At the request of one of my fellow temple workers, I reached way back into history to create a temple box for Solomon’s Temple. Since there were obviously no photos or plans to go by, I had to rely on an artist’s rendition on its description in the Bible. The result was a temple box with more detail on the inside than any I’ve previously made. The Solomon’s Temple temple box includes four separate storage compartments, including a Holy of Holies, complete with a tiny set of stairs and the veil. The front of the temple box also includes the two columns, Boaz and Jachin. The Solomon’s Temple temple box measures 3¾” x 8½” x 4¼”, and its four compartments provide almost 35 in³ of storage capacity. It is made of mostly pine with some birch plywood.
