The Columbia River Washington temple box is the fifth variation of the temple boxes for the “small” temples. The arches that accent the Columbia River temple’s doors and windows are actually segmental arches. While seemingly similar to a full arch, they actually represented a challenge to mimic in my temple box, requiring the use of a router to make a full arch, then using a scroll saw to form the “corners” of a segmental arch. The Columbia River temple also features a unique spire, somewhat reminiscent of a rocket ship. The temple box also features a separate compartment for the celestial room with a variation on the roof. The Columbia River temple box has 49 pieces, measures 5½” x 8¾” x 5¼” with just over 20 in³ of storage, and is made of mostly white pine, with some birch plywood.
